How to create a Quiz Certificate with an LMS?

Learners today are more comfortable with technology than ever before.

An Innovative Learning Management System (LMS) is a game changer!

Learners want to be able to access their course content whenever and wherever they want. Instead of reading lengthy books or watching long videos, learners prefer interactive learning experiences that are fun and engaging.

In this blog post, we’ll explore how you can use your eLearning Platform LMS as a tool for creating Quiz Certificates in your eLearning training courses.

In this article we list the type of quiz you need and how to manage your certification and what are the needed features in your Learning Management System (LMS).

What is a Quiz Certificate?

A Quiz Certificate is a kind of certificate that can be used in your digital training courses. It is a great way to inspire your learners and motivate them to achieve their goals.

It can also be used as a badge or a reward to celebrate your learners’ achievements and progress. Quiz Certificates can be used in many ways.

For example:

  • You can use Quiz Certificates to give your learners achievements or specific badges for completing specific course content.

  • You can use Quiz Certificates to test your learners’ knowledge and understanding of the course content.

  • You can use Quiz Certificates to motivate your learners and inspire them to achieve their goals.

Why use an LMS to create Quiz Certificates?

  • First and foremost, LMS is an online platform where you can host your digital training courses.

  • It allows you to create interactive content, track your learners’ progress and collect data with ease.

  • It is a great tool for collaboration among your team members.

  • With an eLearning Platform (LMS), you can make your learning experiences more engaging, fun and rewarding for your learners.

  • You can use your LMS to create a Quiz Certificate in your digital training courses to motivate your learners and inspire them to achieve their goals.

How to Manage your Quiz in an LMS?

Our eLearning Platform LMS offers a wide range of quizzes to vary the experience and provide a rich and memorable elearning experience:

The following are the types of quizzes available on our platform:

  • True / false: A true or false quiz is a type of assessment in which a user must agree or disagree on facts or statements. In other words, a person has to choose between only two options: “True” or “False”.

  • Multiple choice quiz: A multiple choice quiz consists of two parts: a ‘stem’ and a set of possible responses. A stem can take the form of an actual question, phrase, incomplete sentence, or mathematical equation. More advanced tests contain other elements, such as graphs, tables, case studies, detailed descriptions, and other relevant information. Quiz takers should choose the correct response from the options listed. There are two types of options available: the correct or best choice is referred to as the key, and other options are called distractors.

  • Ordering: Ordering quizzes are the best option for establishing a timeline, arranging elements in ascending/descending order, or illustrating a step-by-step process. You can list some events or statements and allow learners to put them in the correct order. These questions are effective when users need to remember information in a set, not separately. You can also use this format for quizzes dealing with historical and chronological subjects.

  • Matching: A matching question can cover a large amount of content. It is also one of the most engaging types of questions for learners. A matching question lets you provide phrases, statements, and words. The learner has to match each word with the appropriate phrase or statement. You can add extra matching items to make the quiz more difficult.

  • Fill-in-the-blank: Fill-in-the-blank questions, aka “completion questions”, require that learners know the correct answer. In this type of quiz, use fill-in-the-blank questions without giving hints, and evaluate the user’s knowledge. Create this type of question if you need to check the learner’s understanding of a specific rule or simple procedure, for example.

  • Manual assessment: An excellent way for learners to create a video recording, document, podcast or share their screen and upload their files to the platform as part of a quiz. Once all is submitted, teachers can review, start a discussion and grade the submitted material.

  • SCORM quiz: You can build your quizzes as SCORM files and upload them to the platform.

Here are different options to inform learners about their quiz results:

  • At the end of the quiz with a simple pass/fail grading displayed either by numbers (8 out of 10 correct) or a percentage (85% scored).

  • After each answer submitted to confirm if the answer was correct or not

  • After each answer submitted, explaining what the right answer was

  • On manual assessments, you can have a dedicated chat room with the learner to discuss the result.

Custom settings on quizzes:

  • Pass rate: Sets the amount of correct answers learners can reach

  • Limit attempts: Sets the maximum number of attempts

  • Timer: Limits the amount of time available

  • Randomise: Randomises the order of questions

  • Limit / Quiz bank: Sets up a pool of questions and randomly selects a given amount for each take

  • Give points: Gives a number of leaderboard points when learners successfully complete a quiz first

  • Lock: Blocks access to a quiz until another content is finished

Video-Base Quiz and LMS

Our solution is unique in that it offers an innovative series of video tests:

  1. Test video: where the participant films himself in front of the screen for a dirty speech for example. This test can be audio only.

  2. Screen recording: The learner records his screen to perform operations perfect for learning software

  3. Video quiz: The instructor records a video, in the video he asks a question and the video pauses automatically. The learner answers the question and the video resumes.

  4. Interactive Video: The video offers choices: option A or B, depending on the answers the video scenario changes.

The videos and audios can be downloaded or recorded directly on our LMS

Managing the Certificate

Our LMS lets you manage the certificate acquisition process.

You can create a mixed learning path of lessons and tests.

Each lesson and test is given a number of points and the accumulation of points leads to the validation of the certification.

You can add, edit, and delete certificates that you want to award to users for course completion, course attendance, etc.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Lessons & Quizzes > Certification.

    • The Certification page will be displayed.

  2. Click + Add certificate.

    • The section to add a new certificate will be displayed.

  3. Enter the certificate title in the Certificate title field.

  4. To upload the certificate, click Browse, select the file from your local system, and click Open.

    • Accepted formats for a certificate are JPG or PNG.

    • The base certificate image should not contain any information that is specific to the user, such as the name or the date of completion as these will be added by the system upon generation.

    • It can include the course name only if you use this certificate for the given course. As soon as one certificate is used in multiple places, you should not include the course name.

    • Landscape and portrait modes are both supported as there is no size restriction. However, we suggest you upload at least 1400px wide certificate images.

  5. Once you have uploaded the image, you will see an edit box below the certificate where you can add additional text over the certificate background image. These texts will be added exactly as shown on the preview area.

    • It’s possible to add user’s information on the certificate. To do so, please refer to the section below.

  6. Click Save.

    • The certificate is now added.

Our team is of course there to assist you and design the certification.
